Your family, friends and neighbors
need a hero like you!

Without "Medical Heroes" people challenged with potentially life threatening disease and illness would find no hope for new or different treatments or cures! Like the "Heroes" on the right, you could help a family member, a friend or thousands of others as well as yourself.

How can you be a "Medical Hero"?

Clinical Research Center of Nevada has a network of experienced medical professionals that conduct clinical trials  under the guidelines set by the FDA to safely bring new medications and medical devices to market.

Vaccine to prevent shingles

After you get chickenpox, the virus remains inactive (becomes dormant) in certain nerves in the body. Shingles occurs after the virus becomes active again in these nerves years later.

The reason the virus suddenly become active again is not clear. Often only one attack occurs.

Shingles may develop in any age group, but you are more likely to develop the condition if:

  • You are older than 50
  • You had chickenpox before age 1
  • Your immune system is weakened by medications or disease
If an adult or child has direct contact with the shingles rash on someone and has not had chickenpox as a child or a chickenpox vaccine, they can develop chickenpox, rather than shingles.

Clinical Research Center of Nevada is conducting a research study of an investigational vaccine to prevent shingles in people older than sixty.

If you have had chickenpox and you are over fifty years of age, you may be eligible to participate in a research study,  please call (702)-893-8968 for more information.  Eligible participants may receive compensation for time and travel.

Review the list of current trials above and if there is one that meets your needs or you would like to know more; you can contact one of our recruiting specialists at 702-893-8968. Our recruiting specialists will make an initial assessment of your eligibility for the trial and if there is a match, they will schedule your first appointment or inform you of other trial options.
